Arabian pillow cake

The cake I’m sharing with you all today definitely pushed the limits of my comfort zone – but a lesson learned here was that being challenged creatively is a good thing!
I actually declined this cake request at first, but this gal was especially persistent (also, it helped that she was super sweet and excited about my cakes). ;) And I am so glad that she won me over, because it was so much FUN creating this cake!
An Aladdin/Arabian-themed two-tier pillow cake (top tier carrot cake, bottom tier piña colada cake), made for a sweet little girl’s 5th birthday party. The family was insistent that they did not want the cake covered with fondant, so both cakes were filled with cream cheese frosting, covered with buttercream, and decorated with edible gold fondant decorations.

I was super impressed with the party decorations – check out the backdrop the family set up for the cake! WOWZA! My inner child was super jealous. :)

But seriously, it was so heartwarming to see how much love, work & effort the family put into this event – all for friends and family to come together and celebrate a birthday. It will certainly be a sweet memory for the birthday girl, and I am so happy I got to be a part of making her day extra special. <3 <3

We were all honored to have your delicious cake at my nieces 5th bday! And beyond us, my niece did say,” Wow, that’s a real princess cake!” You did a phenomenal job Brittany and we can’t thank you enough! From the decoration, to the most delicious carrot/piña coloda cake we have EVER taste before! Honestly, THANK YOU! Now you’re off to yet another challenge that you’ll conquer once again as you did here!
